Bourbon Smokies Recipe
Share
A fun twist on the classic party favorite, these mini sausages wrapped in flaky dough are made even better with a bourbon glaze. They’re easy to grab, deliciously smoky-sweet, and perfect for dipping in mustard or BBQ sauce.
YIELD: 6 SERVINGS | ACTIVE TIME: 25 MINUTES | TOTAL TIME: 40 MINUTES
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 lb Hillshire Farms Lit'l Smokies Sausages
- 2 (8 oz) cans of Pillsbury Crescents dough
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 375®¨F. Place the bourbon, barbecue sauce, water, and sausages in a saucepan and warm over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sausages are glazed and the liquid has reduced by half.
2. Strain the sausages, reserving the liquid as a dipping sauce. Place the sausages on a baking sheet and let them cool completely.
3. Separate the dough into triangles. Cut each triangle evenly into three strips.
4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wrap each sausage in a strip of dough and place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the wrapped sausages in the oven and bake until the dough is cooked through and golden brown, about 5 minutes. 5. Serve the bourbon smokies alongside the dipping sauce.
